In light of the recent tragedies caused by numerous storms and tornadoes across the Southern states, funds are urgently needed by the Red Cross to provide relief to the many thousands that have been affected. Those of us who have not been touched by this disaster should step up to help wherever possible.

A benefit is being organized for June 30, 2011 at Mullaney’s Harp and Fiddle, 2329 Penn avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa, to raise funds for the Red Cross in an effort to help those that have lost so much. Funds are needed so that the survivors can carry on to reconstruct the damage and rebuild what nature has destroyed. The evening will consist of live entertainment by many local performers and raffles of items donated by local businesses. A donation of $10.00 at the door and raffle proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross and earmarked for relief of the tornado victims.

An agreement has been signed and is on file with the Red Cross and this benefit will be under their auspices.
